Sick of Your Own Sh*t? Here’s the Reset That Actually Works!
Hey, welcome back. This week I want to talk to you about a practice I’m currently doing—a 30-day mental diet. I’ve only been in it for several days and already find it really powerful. So I want to introduce it to you because I think you’ll find it valuable too.
Have you ever woken up and thought, “Jesus Christ, I’m so sick of myself,” or “Why do I keep ending up in the same place over and over again?” You’ve got this beautiful vision board, this idea of who you could be—successful, vibrant, doing things that feel aligned—and sometimes that feels true and attainable. Other times, though, it feels completely disconnected. Like you just can’t make it happen.
If you’ve ever felt like that, this episode is for you. Because I believe we are not here to keep shrinking ourselves or getting lost in strategies that promise the world and deliver nothing. We're not here to chase external validation on a hamster wheel. We’re here to create—and not from panic, but from a deep, sacred place within us. A place only we can access. We’re here to choose, to become who we’re really meant to be.
Every dream, every breakthrough, every next chapter begins in one place: your mind. What you think, what you believe, what you accept about yourself—consciously or subconsciously—shapes everything. This episode isn’t about productivity hacks or time management. It’s about coming back to the only place that truly matters: your inner world.
So let’s go.
There Is No Such Thing as an Idle Thought
Here’s the first idea I want you to consider: there is no such thing as an idle thought. Every single thought is creative. Directional. Every thought carries a frequency. You’re not a passive thinker. You’re an active broadcaster.
The Dhammapada, one of the earliest Buddhist scriptures, begins with this:
"All that we are is the result of what we have thought."
The Upanishads, ancient Indian spiritual texts, say:
"You are what your deep, driving desire is. As your desire is, so is your will… so is your destiny."
And in Proverbs, we read:
"As a person thinketh in their heart, so are they."
In other words, your self-concept doesn’t just influence your life—it creates it.
We are the product of the thoughts we’ve allowed to linger. Look around at your life—your schedule, your energy, your relationships. You’re looking at your self-concept, made visible.
Carol Dweck, in her book Mindset, writes:
"The view you adopt for yourself profoundly affects the way you lead your life."
Neville Goddard said:
"Change your conception of yourself and you will automatically change the world in which you live."
Who Do You Think You Are?
Next idea: Who do you think you are?
Most of us suffer from a sad case of mistaken identity. Your self-concept is the filter through which all your thoughts flow. If you think you’re broken, you’ll interpret challenges and setbacks as confirmation of that belief. But if you believe you’re becoming, then every moment becomes a stepping stone.
Not who you tell people you are. I mean the version you meet when you're alone. What stories, labels, or limits do you carry?
What if you treated your mind like sacred ground—and only allowed thoughts that served your highest self to take root?
That might sound radical. And I wouldn’t be surprised if a voice inside your head said, “That’s ridiculous. Who even is my highest self?” But just notice what your mind serves up in response. That’s your filter. That’s your current identity. And you can change it.
The Wayward Mind & The Worship of Doing
The third thing I want to talk about is how wayward our minds are—and how addicted we’ve become to doing. We worship at the altar of productivity. We’re constantly reacting—pinged by notifications, news, other people’s urgencies. We’re more “human doings” than human beings.
We live in the attention economy. Distraction is big business. TikTok. Reels. YouTube. Netflix. Gaming. What’s your flavor?
Is your attention on your heart’s desire? Or have you been so distracted that you’ve forgotten what that even is?
I like to ask myself:
“Is this in alignment with my assignment?”
And by “assignment,” I mean my purpose—or my most important work right now.
Slowing down feels rebellious. But let’s be honest: how’s all that rushing and strategy-stacking working out?
Eckhart Tolle wrote:
“Thinking has become a disease. Used wrongly, it becomes destructive.”
And he’s right. We’ve been conditioned to do more, push harder, hustle. And what are we left with? Burnout. Loneliness. Disconnection.
But being—being present, aligned, centered—that’s where real power lives.
From this place, we can finally exhale. We can come home to ourselves. This is the place of peace, abundance, clarity, joy. And yet… we almost never let ourselves go there.
We’ve locked the door to our own treasure store, thinking we have to go out and chase trinkets instead.
So… What Are You Thinking?
Your culture. Your lineage. Your habits. They’ve all shaped how your mind works. And you will live in reaction to all that unless—unless you choose something different.
So ask yourself:
What am I thinking right now?
And more importantly:
Is it worthy of who I truly am?
The 30-Day Mental Diet
Now, here’s the practice I promised: a 30-day mental diet.
It’s not a restriction—it’s a devotion.
For 30 days, treat your inner world like sacred ground. Let go of anything rooted in fear, doubt, or smallness. Choose to nourish thoughts that reflect the truth of who you really are.
This isn’t about perfection. Thoughts will come. Negative thoughts will arise. But you get to choose which ones you water.
You are the sacred creative force of your life.
Some practical things that are helping me:
- No news. I don’t click. I don’t consume.
- Daily meditation or stillness. Even five minutes alone in silence counts.
- Journaling. Track the themes in your thoughts. What keeps coming up? What does it reveal about who you think you are?
Over 30 days, you’ll begin to see the shift.
